Mine Manager: Affonso Bizon Overview Huntly mine is the world's second largest bauxite mine, supplying ore to Pinjarra and Kwinana alumina refineries. It was established in 1976 and is located near Dwellingup in Western Australia. In 2017 Huntly mine supplied approximately 26 million tonnes of bauxite via a direct overland conveying system to Pinjarra alumina refinery, and via an overland conveyer and rail to Kwinana alumina refinery. The current crusher is located at Myara. Huntly mines bauxite from within a defined Mineral Lease (known as ML1SA). Alcoa 's mining operations are overseen by the Mining and Management Program Liaison Group (MMPLG), which consists of representatives from across government.
