FIAR Guidance Supplement 1 MILITARY PAYROLL KEY SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS The following tables list key supporting documents (KSDs) necessary to demonstrate audit-readiness for Military Pay. These KSDs include internal control KSDs and transactions KSDs, and include both Department-wide and service-specific documents. As reporting entities execute the FIAR Methodology, Discovery Phase, Key Task Evaluate Supporting Documentation, they should use judgment in determining which of the KSDs identified are necessary to satisfy relevant financial statement assertions and whether additional service-specific KSDs are needed. For Transactions KSDs, the input factor Eligibility supports the validity of the transactions and the existence and rights/obligations financial statement assertions. The input factor Amount supports the accuracy of the transactions and the valuation financial statement assertion.
