Jul 01, 2018 · The 1995 sentencing guidelines and its revisions were intended to apply to sentencing for all felonies, except capital felonies, committed on or after October 1, 1995. However, due to the Florida Supreme Court ruling in Heggs v. State 759 So. 2d 620 (2000), the 1995 guidelines are effective for offenses committed on or after May 25, 1997.
