We do this by providing Air Force forces to accomplish our fi ve core missions. Since 1947, our core missions remain the backbone of our Service, and have evolved appropriately to address the changing environment. Every generation of Airmen has faced seemingly insurmountable challenges in accomplishing these missions, and yet, each generation of Airmen before us found a way to adapt. At crucial moments in time, they developed a way to succeed.
