NC General Statutes - Chapter 90 Article 18E 1 07/31/32019 this Article, unless the context otherwise requires, the following definitions shall apply:(1)"Board" means the North Carolina Board of PHYSICAL THERAPY Examiners.(2)" PHYSICAL therapist " means any person who practices PHYSICAL THERAPY inaccordance with the provisions of this Article.(3)" PHYSICAL therapist assistant " means any person who assists in the PRACTICE ofphysical THERAPY in accordance with the provisions of this Article, and whoworks under the supervision of a PHYSICAL therapist by performing suchpatient-related activities assigned by a PHYSICAL therapist which arecommensurate with the PHYSICAL therapist assistant 's education and training, butan assistant 's work shall not include the interpretation and implementation ofreferrals from licensed medical doctors or dentists, the performance ofevaluations, or the determination or major modification of treatment programs.
