Field of application This standard applies to welded circular tubes and pipes (hereinafter briefly referred to as tubes ) subject to special requirements and made from the austenitic stainless steels listed in table 1. These tubes are predominantly used in the construction of pressure vessels, chemical plant and pipework. The limits of application and other specifications given in this standard shall apply except in cases where other specifications. This standard does not apply to general purpose welded circular stainless steel tubes (see DIN17455).
