1. Look at the “y” values in your spreadsheet. Notice that when x = -2, y = 1.5 and when x = -1, y = -1. Since y moves from positive 1.5 to a negative 1, the graph must cross the x-axis to do this. This means that the graph crosses the x-axis between –2 and –1 and one of our zeros, roots or solutions is located in this interval.
