Introduction: In gujarat , about 20500 industries have potential to generate hazardous waste which can be recycled in different areas. As specified in Rule 9 of Hazardous and Other waste rules 2016, unit shall obtain prior permission for utilization of hazardous waste from competent authority. As per the Hazardous and Other Waste (M&TM) rules 2016, CPCB has delegated the powers to SPCBs to grant authorization for utilization of Hazardous and other waste under Rule 9, if the standard operating procedures (SOPs) or guidelines developed by CPCB.
