The causes of < strong >poverty strong > are complex and intertwined. They include unemployment, low-paid work, inadequate benefit entitlements, and lack of affordable housing. There are also various social risk factors including having a disability, being a carer, and being part of a lone-parent or large can affect the < strong >Health strong > of people at all ages. In infancy, it is associated with a low birth weight, shorter life expectancy and a higher risk of death in the first year of life.
