Brain research indicates that learning, whether the retention of factual information or the development of critical and creative thinking skills, is enhanced by rich context and multisensory instruction. Integrating arts into the Social Studies curriculum is an excellent way to allow students with diverse learning modalities to become more effective learners, but it can actually accomplish much more than that.
