INTRODUCTION The 2017 Edition of the General specification for Building comprises considerable updating and revisions to the 2012 Edition. The review of the 2012 Edition was carried out by the Technical Information Committee of the Architectural Services Department (ArchSD). Principal amendments and additions in the 2017 Edition include the revision of technical requirements, updating of the BS Standards and BS EN Standards where applicable as well as incorporation of further greening specification . The updating of specification is a continuous process. With the benefit of information technology, the electronic version of this 2017 Edition of the General specification will be kept up-to-date and may be viewed on the ArchSD Homepage.
