INTRODUCTIONNEW JERSEY TRANSFER inheritance TAX - ESTATE TAXGENERALNew JERSEY has had a TRANSFER inheritance Tax since 1892 when a 5% tax was imposed on property transferred from a decedentto a beneficiary.
