This National Procurement Policy Statement sets out the strategic priorities for public procurement and how contracting authorities can support their delivery. Introduction 2. At around 290 billion every year, public sector procurement accounts for around a third of all public expenditure. The huge power of this expenditure must support the delivery of public sector policy priorities, including generating economic growth, helping our communities recover from the Covid-19 pandemic, and supporting the transition to net zero carbon.
