Specialist details Patient identifier Name: Location: Tel: Date: Introduction Licensed indications: active rheumatoid arthritis and active psoriatic arthritis in adults. Unlicensed indications: seronegative polyarthritis and vasculitis. Adult dosage and administration Dose: 10 - 20mg once daily. Leflunomide is available as: 10mg, 15mg and 20mg tablets. A 100mg tablet is also available for a three day loading dose referred to in product literature. This can speed up the onset of effect but may increase the incidence of adverse effects and is often omitted in practice.
Leflunomide June 2017 Page 3 of 3 Adverse effects, precautions and contraindications Please note that leflunomide has a very long half life. Washout procedure with colestyramine is recommended in cases of significant drug toxicity (check SPC or BNF for further information).
