Page 1 of 10 Heart of David But now thy kingdom shall not continue: the LORD hath sought him a man after his own heart, and the LORD hath commanded him to be captain over his people, because thou hast not kept that which the LORD commanded thee. I Samuel 13:14 And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will. Acts 13:22 Introduction: 1. If David was truly a man after God s own heart, then we should want to learn all we can about David s heart. 2. There are more events and personal thoughts of David recorded than all other men, so God blessed our goal. 3. The Old Testament was written for our learning (Rom 15:4), and there is more about David than anyone else. 4. If we include David s psalms, which we clearly should, the subject is one of the largest in all of Scripture.
