John’s Gospel starts by introducing Jesus as the Cosmic Jesus, through whom God created the heavens and the earth, co-eternal with God the Father. “In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was with God.” John 1:1. As we now partake of the Lord’s Supper let us remember Jesus as creator of heaven and earth.
