Much of LOUISIANA law is governed by the LOUISIANA s Civil Code and Revised Statutes, with case law serving as interpretations of these codal/statutory articles. BREACH OF CONTRACT To form a valid and enforceable contract under LOUISIANA law, there must be capacity of the parties to contract, consent of the parties to the contract, a lawful cause or consideration, and a certain object that forms the subject matter of the agreement.
