Namibian Constitution (GG 2). The Namibian Constitution was published and came into force on the date of Independence: 21 March 1990 (Article 130). as amended by Namibian Constitution First Amendment Act 34 of 1998 (GG 2014). This amending Act came into force on its date of publication: 24 December 1998. Namibian Constitution Second Amendment Act 7 of 2010 (GG 4480). This amending Act came into force on its date of publication: 7 May 2010, with some exceptions (section 17 of Act 7 of 2010): Sections 6 and 12 commenced on the date the term of office of the existing members of the national Council ends , referring to the members of the national Council in office when Act 7 of 2010 was enacted. There is some uncertainty about what this date actually was.
