Name Lab Day Naming Ionic & Covalent Compounds Introduction: The symbols, formulas, and names of chemical Compounds are important to know for a clear understanding of chemistry. The nomenclature system takes a logical approach to Naming Compounds and writing formulas. Compounds that consist of two nonmetal atoms bonded together are known as Covalent Compounds . Nonmetal elements are located on the right side of the periodic table. An example of a Covalent Compounds is N2O3. To name these Compounds , prefixes are used to indicate the number of each element involved.
