Whilst we now commonly use non- invasive techniques (CPAP / Hi-flow), a good understanding of how and when to use mechanical Ventilation is a key part of Neonatal practice. Although most of our babies require ventilating because of lung problems related to prematurity, we also see a number of pathologies that require very different strategies.
