THE RIEMANN-STIELTJES INTEGRAL

Riemann-Stieltjes integral, which involves two functions f and α. The symbol for such an integral is b a f d (x) or something similar, and the usual Riemann integral occurs as the special case in which α(x) = x. When α has a continuous derivative, the definition is such that the Stieltjes integral becomes the Riemann integral.
