North East and Cumbria antimicrobial prescribing guideline for primary care This guideline aims to provide primary care clinicians with clear advice on the empirical antibiotic treatment of common infections, to promote the judicious use of antibiotics and to minimise the emergence of bacterial resistance. This guideline has been produced by the NECS Medicines Optimisation Team on behalf of CCGs in the North East and Cumbria .
