Nurses who apply for initial licensure, renewal, or licensure by endorsement must apply to the Board of Nursing of the state/territory or states in which they practice. Requirements for licensure may vary somewhat from no continuing education needed to up to 30 hours, such as California, which requires 30 hours every 2 years.
