Demand was good on a very heavy supply of Slaughter cows and a moderate supply of Slaughter bulls and Replacement cattle. Receipts exceeded previous records for the Wednesday Replacement / Slaughter Auction at Ozarks Regional Stockyard as producers continue to struggle with drought conditions across the area. The bulk of the offering was average dressing and low dressing lean cows.
Special Note: Consignment for Wednesday, January 19, includes 175 head of Young, Black-Hided mostly 3rd Period Cows from one farm. Compared to last week, the bulk of the slaughter cows traded 3.00-4.00 higher with some high dressing cows trading 10.00-12.00 higher. Slaughter bulls traded steady.
