PENAL code Act Number 1/81 27/1/1381 H. Enacting Provision Whereas it is seen imperative by the State of the Maldives and the People s MajlisTP F1 FPT to have a PENAL code for the purposes of establishing and maintaining public tranquility, public order and justice within the jurisdiction to which the Constitution of the Maldives applies, it is hereby enacted as follows by the People s Majlis on 27 PthP Muharram 1381 HTP F2 FPT. directing the State to abide by this Law and to enforce it within the jurisdiction of the Maldives from 5 PthP Safar 1381 HTP F3 FPT. CHAPTER 1 General Explanations Title 1. This Law shall be cited as the PENAL code of the Maldives.
