PHEP Capabilities and Preparedness and Response Core Competencies: Two Approaches for Applying Organizational-Level Competencies to Public Health Preparedness INTRODUCTION This document presents a summary of organizational-level competencies for the PHEP Capabilities . There are two tables. Table 1 is organized by the three resource elements used in the PHEP Capabilities Standards (CDC, March, 2011): 1) planning; 2) skills and training; and 3) equipment and technology. The goal is to provide organizations with an overview of organization- and team-level competencies to assist in planning activities and measuring performance. The Skills/Training column both reflects training that may be appropriate for all staff, teams, or certain individuals and provides organizations a way to see the range of skills and trainings necessary to achieve the capability standards in their jurisdictions.
