Additional Course Description: This advanced ASSESSMENT core course for the CNS is designed utilizing three foundations for learning: (1) online didactic/theory- based information, (2) the Shadow Health Digital CLINICAL Experience (DCE) through the examination of digital standardized patients (DSP), and (3) hands-on practicum experience with a preceptor. This educational triad is provided so students have the opportunity to integrate comprehensive history taking, the nursing process, therapeutic communication, PHYSICAL ASSESSMENT knowledge and psychomotor skills into the quality care of human beings. Within a holistic framework, students learn how to systematically collect, analyze, synthesize and document subjective and objective findings.
