Pre-K Scope and Sequence This Pre-K Scope and Sequence shows a progression of interdisciplinary learning throughout the year in three sections. In order to ground children in their own experiences and expand their understanding of the people and world around them with increasing complexity, Pre-K students start the year studying My Community and Me, then move into My Environment and Me, and finally, Change and Growth !ll !round Me. To make the most of the Pre-K year as the first step in a child's P-12 Common Core aligned learning path, the development of inquiry and critical thinking will be a consistent thread throughout all themes and units. The units provide opportunities for content exploration and skill building that are aligned with the NYC DOE Kindergarten Social Studies and Science Scope and Sequence .
