The first part of the chapter lays a conceptual andempirical foundation for other chapters in the volume. Specifically, the chapter defines and distinguishesthe key concepts of prejudice , stereotypes, and discrimination , highlighting how bias can occur atindividual, institutional, and cultural levels.
