The objective of this research was to ascertain some of thepresent CHALLENGES and CRITICAL ISSUES in Industrial andOrganisational Psychology (I/O Psychology) in South Africa, inorder to determine the immediate and long term foci forresearchers. Firstly, the work context in which employees andemployers as the clients of I/O Psychology are currentlyfunctioning, is analysed. Secondly, the identity of I/OPsychology is discussed.
