The 2018 updated Guidance on PBC includes updates on etiol-ogy and diagnosis, role of imaging, clinical manifesta-tions, and treatment of PBC since 2009.
Cholangitis Primary Biliary Cholangitis (PBC) is considered an autoimmune disease because of its hallmark sero-logic signature, antimitochondrial antibody (AMA), and specific bile duct pathology.(1-4) The etiology of PBC is thought to be due to a combination of genetic risk factors and environmental triggers.(5-7)
