Principles of Sustainable Development March 14 2013 A set of guiding Principles submitted to the Task Force on Land Use for use in the Development of a comprehensive provincial land use policy Environmental Advisory Council Principles of Sustainable Development 2 EAC 2013 Guiding Principles for Sustainable Development Background The Report of the Commission on Land and Local Governance1 recommended that provincial land use policies and a conservation strategy be developed using Sustainable Development Principles . Any land use policies that are developed will guide planning and Development decisions province-wide, shaping what Prince Edward Island will look like well into the future. The Land Use Policy Task Force was formed to lead a public dialogue on provincial land policies and is undertaking a wide-ranging review of land practices in the province.
