2 Priority Policy for Development Cooperation FY 2017 Basic ConceptsDevelopment Cooperation that Contributes to National Interests Development Cooperation is an important pillar for Japan to actively advance diplomacy that takes a panoramic perspective ofthe world map. Fromthe perspective of proactive contribution to peace based on the principle of international Cooperation ,Japan will contribute more proactively to securing the peace, stability and prosperity of the international community. To this end,Japan will promote strategic and effective Development Cooperation to advance its foreign Policy , including the Free and OpenIndo-Pacific Strategy.
