Richter November 29, 2012 Page | 2 Table of Contents EXECUTIVE SUMMARY There has been ample research and literature which suggests that dropout rates for online courses tend to be significantly higher than the dropout rates for traditional face-to-face courses. The reasons for these results often include one or more of the following: A. many learners taking their first online course lack sufficient computer skills; B. many learners are relative newcomers to the Internet; C. many first-time online learners have minimal or no previous experience with integrating technology with human interaction in order to communicate effectively; D.
The purpose of this evaluation is to demonstrate the effectiveness of this online course in preparing adult learners for success in the 21st Century online classroom. The results of the evaluation will be used to enhance the design and content of the course to ensure
