An acrostic poem in Hebrew is one in which the initial letters of the lines form the alphabet in order. Psalms 9, 10, 25, 34, 37, 111, 112 and 145 are examples;. but Psalm 119 is the most elaborate and complete. There are twenty-two letters in the Hebrew alphabet. Under each of these letters, we find eight one-line verses, each beginning with the Hebrew letter that corresponds to its heading.
