To demonstrate skill in isolation of organisms from a mixed CULTURE using selective and differential media. To isolate microorganisms from a wide variety of sources and describe their colonial morphology . II. INTRODUCTION Most environments carry a mixed microbial population. To fully appreciate the contribution of each group of organisms to the ecology of the mass, one must first dissect this mixed CULTURE to obtain single colonies.
