This has led to an increasingly strong transfer of de-velopment and production responsibility from the vehicle manufacturers to com-petent (mega) suppliers. The conscious structural change in the supplier indus-try due to the creation of module or sys-tem suppliers also caused intransparency regarding the OEM requirements for small and medium-sized companies in the automotive supply chain, which in the course of globalisation now extends over the entire globe.
