Areas of prophylaxis include vaccines and coagulation. It is now possible, through rDNA technology, to produce an effective and safer production of both live and killed vaccines with increase response and high specificity. RECOMBINANT DNA technology approach is the identification of that protein component of virus or microbial pathogen which itself can elicit the production of antibodies having capacity to neutralize infectivity, potentially protecting the host against the pathogen.
