CORPORATE GOVERNANCE is stretched to the extent that it is distressed and has been unable to cope with the demands placed on it.

Governance, which sets out clearly the importance of Corporate Governance in the following statement: ^The presence of an effective corporate governance system, within an individual company and across an economy as a whole, helps to provide a degree of confidence that is necessary for the proper functioning of a market economy.
