The PLAIN and adjacent areas are characterized by vernal pools, seasonal wetlands, and associated grassland habitat which support the threatened California tiger salamander (CTS) and four endangered plant species: Burke's goldfields, Sonoma sunshine, Sebastopol meadowfoam, and many-flowered navarretia.
