For some communities, these outcomes are probably inevitable, and not amendable to positive interdiction. But many other communities can determine their inherent strengths and commit to building upon those strengths, and identify their specific challenges and craft strategies for addressing those, as well. Bayfield, Colorado, is very fortunate in being located in a region of the inter-mountain west with a mild climate, great natural beauty, and a high quality of life.
