Special Inspection Guidelines for Post-installed Anchors Developed for the Concrete Anchor Manufacturers Association (CAMA) by Lee Mattis, Revised June 6, 2011 by John Silva, & Lee Mattis, Scope Purpose The purpose of this document is to provide background and a frame of reference about Special Inspection in general and to provide specific information regarding the Special Inspection of Post-installed mechanical and adhesive anchors installed in hardened concrete. This document is based on the requirements for Special Inspection in the International building code (IBC) published by the International code Council as well as in the California building code as amended by the Office of Statewide Health and Planning Development (OSHPD).
2.0 . Background . 2.1 . History of Special Inspection . The Uniform Building Code first included requirements for special inspection of certain types of construction in 1937.
