A positive sign is indicated by the pelvis dropping toward the unsupported limb. Faber s (Patrick) Test: a test designed to alert the examiner to the possibility of hip pathology or SI joint dysfunction. The examiner places the test limb in flexion, abduction and external rotation so that the foot of the test limb rests on the patients opposite knee.
