NIOSH-approved course (see 29 CFR 1910.1001, 1910.1028, and 1910.1043). In addition to these regulatory requirements, OSHA recommends that all technicians and other persons conducting occupational spirometry tests obtain certification by completing a NIOSH-approved course and maintain that certification by periodically taking refresher courses.
