We have been saying this for many years and the situation is now becoming critical, with the gap between the needs of children and the number of Foster carers with the skills to meet those needs growing wider than time to make Foster care the best it can be is now.

3,352 foster carers, representing six per cent of fostering households in England, four per cent in Northern Ireland, eight per cent in Scotland and seven per cent in Wales. At the time of the ... long-term foster care, then the matching process is critical to ensure the child can thrive.
