STUDENT HANDBOOK . PHD PROGRAM 2017-2018 . 1. GREETING FROM THE PROGRAM DIRECTOR. Welcome to the University of Missouri (MU) PhD PROGRAM in Social Work! I am pleased to have this opportunity to make a contribution to the PROGRAM . The PROGRAM is the only social work PhD PROGRAM in a Missouri public higher education institution. Consistent with MU's stature as a Carnegie Doctoral/Research Extensive institution and a member of the Association of American Universities (AAU), the goal of the PhD PROGRAM is to prepare students for excellence and leadership in social work research and teaching.
