Hamilton Legal Affairs Director, Disability Rights South Dakota Volume 28, Issue 1, of the South Dakota Report contained an article discussing the transfer of parental rights at age of majority. 34 (c) requires that at least one year prior to a child with a disability reaching age of majority under state law, the IEP must include a statement that the child has been informed of what rights will transfer.
