In the Department of Defense (DoD) the configu-ration baselines are called the functional baseline for the system-level description, the allocated baseline for the subsystem/ compo nent performance descriptions, and the product baseline for the sub-system/component detail descriptions. Figure 1-2 shows the basic relationships between the baselines.
