The present method is taught in the Thermo-Fluids Lab and design class (EML4304C) using Euler s Turbomachine Equation along with velocity diagrams to predict performance. There are associated labs where students measure the performance of centrifugal fans, one with a backwards-facing impeller, and one with a forward-facing impeller.
