1. AS INTRODUCED IN LOK SABHA. bill No. 252 of 2015 . THE ARBITRATION AND CONCILIATION ( amendment ). bill , 2015 . A. bill . to amend the ARBITRATION and CONCILIATION Act, 1996. BE it enacted by Parliament in the Sixty-sixth Year of the Republic of India as follows: . 1. (1) This Act may be called the ARBITRATION and CONCILIATION ( amendment ) Act, 2015 . Short title and (2) It shall be deemed to have come into force on the 23rd October, 2015 . commence- ment. 26 of 1996. 2. In the ARBITRATION and CONCILIATION Act, 1996 (hereinafter referred to as the principal amendment 5 Act), in section 2, of section 2. (I) in sub-section (1), . (A) for clause (e), the following clause shall be substituted, namely: . (e) Court means . (i) in the case of an ARBITRATION other than international 10 commercial ARBITRATION , the principal Civil Court of original 2. jurisdiction in a district, and includes the High Court in exercise of its ordinary original civil jurisdiction, having jurisdiction to decide the questions forming the subject-matter of the ARBITRATION if the same had been the subject-matter of a suit, but does not include any Civil Court of a grade inferior to such principal Civil Court, or 5.
